The first Donate-A-Pint drive brought in about 80 pints of blood from voluntary donors at the UCH Blood Bank and Alexander Brown Hall.
The first Donate-A-Pint Project held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at two donation points: the University College Hospital Blood Bank and Alexander Brown Hall, the venue used by the National Blood Service Commission. About 80 pints of blood were donated by voluntary blood donors across the two sites.
We partnered with the UCH Blood Bank, the National Blood Service Commission, One Voice Initiative, the University of Ibadan Medical Students’ Association and the Federation of African Medical Students’ Associations. Staff of the National Blood Service Commission worked alongside our volunteers on the day.
Every pint collected went to the UCH Blood Bank, where patients living with sickle cell disease, cancer and heart conditions often need blood at short notice.
