Better Health Literacy Initiative

Health education in schools, communities and on air, so people know the risk factors and the warning signs.

02The Story

A health talk on hypertension at a SmileBuilders programme

Most non-communicable diseases are linked to how we live: tobacco, inactivity, alcohol and diet. The Better Health Literacy Initiative brings health talks, workshops and practical demonstrations to students and communities, and takes the conversation to radio, webinars and social media.

People who understand a disease catch it earlier and manage it better.

  • Health talks and workshops led by health professionals.
  • Demonstrations of everyday tools such as blood pressure monitors and glucometers, with basic check-ups.
  • Radio programmes, webinars and tweet chats for people we cannot meet in person.

Our AimHealth education for 100 people in a local government area every month.
